vision
To see women in stable family lives, permanent employment, housing and self-sufficient.
Breaking the Cycle
We aim to teach women how they can break free of negative circumstances they have found themselves in previously.
From Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Counselor to Counseling Manager at a Youth Development Center and now Executive Director of Blessed Revelations, she has dedicated her life to service in her community at large in whatever capacity that she can in a professional manner.
volunteering
Our team has watched children succeed in school through our tutoring program, and women overcome their struggles.
We were a participant in providing information to pregnant women who resided at Edgehill Homes to encourage good parenting skills in 2011. In our giving back to the community, we sponsored a "Pampering Spa" at Tennessee Technology Center on 12/10/12 for mothers and children from the Family Life Center of the Rescue Mission. This event afforded them uplifting treatments provided by the cosmetology and aesthetic school. It help to improve their self image and esteem and to help them to have some relief from their circumstances. We provided provided tutoring for the children and counseling(Life Skills Classes) for the mothers while they were living at the Family Life Center between the years of 2012 and 2016. We provided school supplies and snacks for children at the Family Life Center for school year 2020. We have participated in the "Ride 2 Thrive Community Event at Hartman Park on 4-20-13 and on 4-14-18 at Cleveland Park sponsored by Metro Social Services, Davidson County Tennessee Bikers Education Association and Nashville Black Police Association which provided medical testing, educational, and legal information. During the summer of 2016, we were able to conduct a Summer Feeding Program sponsored by the Metro Action Commission. We served 638 meals-breakfast and lunch to Edgehill Homes and Hillside residents' children. We have been blessed to have been able to give children an opportunity to go on weekly field trips. We also gave away clothing, shoes, back packs and school uniforms. We started housing mothers and children in our transitional house since 12/6/2016. On 12-15-21, we provided tolietries and personal hygiene items for the tornado victims in TN/KY.
Through the support of our community, staff and the efforts of our volunteers, we hope to continue servicing the homeless population and do community work as a whole . We hope that you will consider joining our team. To find out how, click here.
